Rimah Babiker – Digital Ethics Advocate | Survivor of Online Disinformation

In an age of instant sharing and digital permanence, disinformation doesn’t just distort facts—it destroys lives. As someone who has personally experienced the harmful impact of online disinformation, I know how deeply false narratives can affect a person’s career, mental health, and safety.

I advocate for stronger ethical standards in digital spaces, especially where unverified content can be published and circulated without accountability. Disinformation disproportionately affects women, people of color, and professionals in vulnerable roles—turning the internet into a tool of erasure and harm rather than empowerment.

My goal is to raise awareness, encourage digital responsibility, and push for systems that protect individuals from reputational violence online. No one should have to fight for their truth in silence.
